At our office in Woodbury, we have gone digital with our dental charts.  This means that we use computers and networks to help with recording x-rays, and the dental records of our patients are stored electronically.  This system increases efficiency and accuracy for our staff, saves paper, and also allows for access to any record quickly.  When sharing medical information with external practitioners or other medical offices is necessary, digital charting also allows us to transmit information accurately and securely.

THE ADVANTAGES OF PAPERLESS CHARTING

Traditional charting methods that were done entirely on paper increased the potential for information to be lost or mistranslated when passed from doctors to hygienists or assistants.  Digital charting enables us to standardize our methods and eliminate that issue, and makes reading the charts easier and more consistent.  We have improved and perfected our system so that we can accurately track dental records and view only the most current information.
